Job description

Job Title: Release Train Engineer
Division: The Weir Group PLC
Location: Johannesburg
Onsite: Remote

Purpose of Role: The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and facilitator responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE coordinates and supports Agile teams, drives alignment, and ensures the successful execution of Planning Intervals (PIs) in line with SAFe principles. This role is critical for managing dependencies, resolving impediments, and driving continuous improvement across the teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage PI Planning events and major ART ceremonies, while driving the execution of PI objectives across the Agile Release Train (ART).
      • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in LeanAgile practices to foster continuous improvement and a culture of learning and transparency.
          • Track and report key metrics to measure teamlevel performance, ensure the removal of impediments, and proactively manage risks across teams.
              • Align with Product Management and other key stakeholders on product vision and strategy, and support the management of dependencies across teams and external programs.
