We have a vision: To give everyone easy access to anything in their cities. And this is where your ride starts.

Your Mission

As the Head of Darkstores/ MFCs (Micro Fulfillment Centers), you will spearhead the operations, strategy, and growth of Glovo Italy's Q-commerce Darkstores. You’ll own the P&L, lead a high-performing team, and create an ecosystem of operational excellence that drives value for our users and achieve superior financial performance for Glovo.

The Journey You’ll Lead

  • Ownership & Strategy:

    • Lead the Q-commerce Darkstores vertical with 360° ownership—operations, category management, and P&L.

    • Develop and execute strategies to optimize performance and deliver outstanding user experiences.

    • Innovate the proposition and find new ways to keep the channel in hyper-growth

    • Join the Quick Commerce Leadership team and be part of Glovo Italy Senior Leadership

  • Leadership:

    • Inspire, coach, and manage a team of 20+ FTEs and a broader network of store managers and pickers.

    • Set performance standards, track key metrics, and ensure operational excellence across all darkstore locations in Italy.

  • Category Management & Growth:

    • Own key metrics like Category Add-to-Cart, Average Order Value, and Gross Margin.

    • Define pricing and promotions strategies, collaborating with procurement, marketing, and HQ teams for seamless execution.

  • Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Partner with category buyers to renegotiate contracts, fostering sustainable partnerships with key suppliers.

    • Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, finance, and HQ teams to deliver flawless execution and measurable impact.

  • Retail Media:

    • Define and implement marketing campaigns with the Ads team to maximize in-store performance and user engagement.

What You Bring to the Ride

We’re looking for ambitious leaders with a track record of building, leading, and scaling operations in dynamic environments. If you’re data-savvy, solution-oriented, and passionate about making an impact, you’ll thrive here.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, including leaders of leaders.

  • Strong background in operational excellence, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or logistics.

  • Analytical rigor: Excel/Google Sheets wizardry with a knack for turning data into action.

  • Critical thinker with a natural bias for action and problem-solving.

  • Professional fluency in Italian and English.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience collaborating across senior leadership teams.

  • Empathy and inclusivity, with a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture.

We believe driven talent deserves:

  • 🌟 An enticing equity plan that lets you own a piece of the action.

  • 💪 Top-notch private health insurance to keep you at your peak.

  • 🍔 Monthly Glovo credit to satisfy your cravings!

  • 🏖️ Extra time off, the freedom to work from home two days a week, and the opportunity to work from anywhere for up to three weeks a year!

  • 👪 Enhanced parental leave, and office-based nursery.

Here at Glovo, we thrive on diversity, we believe it enhances our teams, products, and culture. We know that the best ideas come from a mashup of brilliant diverse minds.
