Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving strategic growth by identifying market opportunities, fostering customer and partner relationships, supporting gotomarket initiatives, and providing subject matter expertise to internal teams. This role bridges market intelligence with execution, ensuring that products and services meet customer needs while achieving commercial success. The BDM collaborates crossfunctionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Operations to support customer acquisition, product adoption, and longterm business growth.

The Business development Manager reports to the Director of Sales

RESPONSIBILITY

Market and Opportunity Development

  • Identify emerging markets, customer segments, and product opportunities through direct engagement, market research, and industry trend monitoring.
  • Maintain relationships with industry groups, regulatory bodies, agencies, and influencers to stay ahead of market developments and generate leads.
  • Work closely with Sales and Product teams to validate opportunity fit and support prioritization aligned with company strategy.
    • Customer and Channel Engagement

      • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including customers, partners, agencies, and channel distributors.
      • Support sales teams in customer meetings as a technical and market expert.
      • Provide nonsales related product and application expertise to support customer education and product adoption.
      • Attend industry events, training exercises, and customer site visits to represent the company and deepen relationships.
        • Product and Market Enablement

          • Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing to define product use cases, user requirements, and market needs.
          • Support the development and refinement of gotomarket plans, product training materials, and sales tools.
          • Provide fieldlevel feedback to influence product design, positioning, pricing, and lifecycle decisions.
            • Training and Launch Support

              • Deliver or support product and application training to internal teams, customers, and channel partners.
              • Assist with launch planning, sales readiness, and ensuring availability of samples or demo units for key accounts.
              • Represent the voice of the customer in internal meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in customer experience.
                • Qualifications:

                  • Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, product management, or related field.
                  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer segmentation, and valuebased selling.
                  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including technical users and senior decisionmakers.
                  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
                  • Ability to travel as required to support business opportunities, customer relationships, and events.

                      • Identification and validation of new business opportunities and markets

                        • ORIENTATION PERIOD

                          The reasonable orientation period for a fully qualified candidate should be six (6) months. During this time, the candidate will familiarize themselves with company policies, procedures, and specific job responsibilities, under the guidance of experienced team members.
