Job Summary: As our Security Engineer III you’ll be responsible for supporting our Security Engineering toolset. You’ll develop, improve, modify, and assess security architecture in a hosting based environment.
Work Location:
·If located near a Rackspace office, you’ll work a hybrid schedule… 2 days in the office and three days remote.
·If not located near an office, you may work 100% remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage scalable security solutions that meet customer requirements leveraging both cloudagnostic and cloud native security tools.
Lead collaborative design and implementation of solutions to meet remediation requirements for audits, security reviews, security incidents, and other activities.
Design and implement automated security processes and controls to increase operational effectiveness and reduce manual processes.
Implement and help manage and respond to security monitoring tools including Managed Detection and Response solution.
Provide specification documentation deliverables to address cybersecurity vulnerabilities and the security controls necessary to mitigate the vulnerabilities to an acceptable level of risk through application of risk management framework concepts.
Participate in preproject cybersecurity risk assessment.
Apply an organizations goals and objectives to develop and maintain architecture.
Update, andor maintain standard operating procedures.
Apply cybersecurity principles to organizational requirements.
Conduct routine vulnerability, configuration, and compliance assessments, and work with customers to prioritize and manage the resulting findings.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
7 or more years of related experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity andor Information Technology to include accountability for complex tasks andor projects.
3+ years’ experience in at least one or more cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Engineering experience with technologies such as firewalls, vulnerability tools, IDPIPS, HIDs, FIM, EDR, WAFs, IAM and various other types of security controls including cloud native security tools.
Proficiency in security monitoring and incident response within public cloud environments.
Experience with Cybersecurity Standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with VMWare NSX.
Proficient level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, risk management, industry practices and emerging trends.
Familiar with attacker toolstacticsprocedures and applying them to hunts, investigations, and incident response.
Hands on experience in containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.
