Global Trade Compliance Operations Specialist

Location: GlobalRemote
Department: Advanced Oncology Solutions

As a Global Trade Compliance Operations Specialist, you will support import and export compliance activities, Business Travel Assessment Tool (BTAT) and Temporary Hiring Out Process (THOP) working closely with internal stakeholders, brokers, and regulatory agencies. Your contribution will help safeguard the company from compliance risks while enhancing process efficiency through automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


You are an excellent candidate if you have the following military experience:

US Army:
  • 92A Automated Logistical Specialist: Manages and maintains logistical information systems and databases, handling everything from supply requisition to inventory control, according to DoD COOL (.mil).
  • 92Z Senior Noncommissioned Logistician: Supervises soldiers engaged in supply, services, and logistics operations, according to DoD COOL (.mil).
  • 88N Transportation Management Coordinator: Coordinates and manages the movement of personnel and cargo via various modes of transportation, including rail, air, sea, and road.

    • Marines:
      • 0441 Logistics Specialist: Provides general and direct support to the Marine AirGround Task Force (MAGTF).
      • 0481 Engineer Equipment Support Marine: Provides logistical support for engineer equipment.
      • 0491 LogisticsMobility Chief: Serves as a senior enlisted leader in logistics and mobility operations, according to DoD COOL (.mil).

        • Air Force:
          • 21R Logistics Readiness Officer: Manage and oversee logistics functions that support Air Force operations. This includes supply chain management, deployment planning, transportation, vehicle management, and fuels operations.
          • 2G0X1 Logistics Plans: Responsible for logistics planning that supports Air Force operations across the globe, ensuring personnel, equipment, and supplies are ready and in the right place at the right time for mission success.

            • Key Responsibilities

              Import Operations:

              • Coordinate shipment of Physics Tools and Equipment globally, partnering with Export Control Compliance (ECC) teams and various freight forwarding companies.
              • Coordinate preimport activities and ensure timely submission of import documentation to customs brokers for Siemens Healthineers divisions globally.
              • Respond to Broker Requests for Information and ensure issue resolution.
              • Monitor and validate electronic data interface (EDI) import transactions in global Import Management Systems.
              • Ensure proper classification, valuation, and origin determination for all imports, including commercial and noncommercial goods.
              • Engage with customs authorities and regulatory agencies as needed on importrelated inquiries or actions.
              • Support compliance audits and implement corrective actions in response to findings.
              • Maintain adherence to Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations and internal protocols.
              • Support internal teams with Business Travel Assessment Tool (BTAT) and Temporary Hiring Out Process (THOP) to ensure company compliance.

                • Export Operations:

                  • Prepare, manage, and distribute export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations.
                  • Partner with ECC team to determine and manage export authorization requirements, ensuring submission to appropriate government agencies in a timely and compliant manner.
                  • Review outbound orders for completeness and export compliance, aligning with Siemens Healthineers Internal Control Program and local export laws.
                  • Serve as a point of contact for exportrelated inquiries and escalation of irregularities.

                    • Trade Compliance & Security Programs:

                      • Assist with the implementation and oversight of global supply chain security initiatives, such as BTAT, THOP, CTPAT, ISF, and TSArelated requirements.
                      • Support continuous improvement and awareness initiatives across global business units and functions (logistics, regulatory, purchasing, etc.).

                        • Process Optimization & Collaboration:

                          • Develop and enforce standard guidelines and automation strategies to optimize importexport operations.
                          • Influence global business practices to adopt compliance automation tools and datadriven decisionmaking.
                          • Provide analytical support to compliance and supply chain projects; contribute to strategic initiatives involving crossfunctional and crossborder teams.

                            • Qualifications & Competencies
                              • Experience in Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, or related field.
                              • 5 years of experience in international trade compliance, with strong knowledge of U.S. and international customs and export control laws (e.g., EAR, EU Dual Use, APAC equivalents).
                              • Handson experience with global ERP systems (SAP preferred) and importexport software platforms.
                              • Proficient in MS Office applications and comfortable working with large data sets and dashboards.
                              • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across time zones, cultures, and business functions.
                              • Knowledge of global supply chain security programs (e.g., CTPAT, AEO, ISF) is a plus.
                              • Proven ability to manage regulatory detail while delivering efficient, scalable solutions in a fastpaced environment.
