Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, resultsoriented Business Development Manager to grow our Energy, Engineering and Manufacturing practice nationally. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing longterm client relationships, and working closely with our delivery team to ensure highquality candidates are matched with client needs. You will represent The Planet Group as a trusted partner, helping organizations solve shortterm challenges and meet longterm strategic goals through toptier talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development efforts by identifying, targeting, and closing opportunities within the energy and engineering sectors

  • Cultivate strong relationships with hiring managers and decisionmakers at all levels

  • Drive all aspects of the consultative sales process including prospecting, client presentations, contract negotiations, and account growth

  • Collaborate with the delivery team to align candidate submissions with client needs and ensure timely interview coordination

  • Stay informed of industry trends, labor market shifts, and competitor activity to maintain a strategic edge

  • Work crossfunctionally with other Planet Group sales teams to expand service offerings and identify upsell opportunities

  • Operate with autonomy, using sound judgment and strategic thinking to identify and nurture longterm client partnerships

    • Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • 2–5+ years of new business development experience in energy, engineering, or manufacturing staffing
      • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and exceed sales targets
      • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the confidence to engage seniorlevel stakeholders
      • Strong business acumen and problemsolving ability
      • A driven, selfstarting attitude with a desire to succeed in a commissiondriven environment
      • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams

          • Base salary range: $80,000 $100,000 and uncapped commission structure

            • *The base salary rate will be commensurate with experience level and past success.
