A Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating new direct sales to achieve the targets set in place by selling guestrooms, catering services and meeting facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and their performance correlate directly to the revenue generated through sales. The role will be focused on the entire group sales cycle, from acquiring the lead, sales calls, client visits, property tours, rate negotiation, submitting proposals and closing contracts to help achieve the department goals of budgeted room night production, revenue, arrivals and other vacation ownership related KPI’s for the assigned resorts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Direct Sales - Respond to individual prospect, identifying their needs in order to qualify leads to increase conversion rate, schedule and conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities, determine rates, prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts and close deals.
  • Prospecting - identify new group opportunities for sleeping rooms, meeting space, catering services and activities. in assigned properties using a wide variety of methods including cold calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, online prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
  • Nurturing - Maintain sales of existing and repeat groups by growing their level of engagement and satisfaction while collaborating with the operations team on new opportunities and enhancements of current and future product offerings.
  • Conduct site visits and represent Holiday Inn Club Vacations Resorts at trade/consumer shows, presentations, and other functions as designated. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or Marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of Group sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills including written communications, speaking and presentation development and delivery.
  • Sales mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team and be part of a dynamic team environment.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated who gets things done with minimal guidance.
  • Must have desire to learn, and ability to master new systems and tools.
  • Ability to work well with other team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Expert level experience required for: Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Work in office at 9271 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32819 Monday - Thursday and work from home on Friday.
