About the Role:
Were looking for a frontend engineer to join our team to raise the bar for UI accessibility as we build our nextgen UI framework and design system. Its an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of our frontend architecture in the cybersecurity space. This role will collaborate closely with product design and UI engineering teams with a heavy focus on accessibility. If you are passionate about building complex user interfaces that can be used by everyone, this role is perfect for you.
What Youll Do:
Ensure Accessibility Compliance Through UI development, testing, and code reviews to ensure components and systems meet WCAG 2.2 guidelines including:
Semantic HTML implementation
Proper ARIA roles and attributes
Sufficient color contrast ratios
Keyboard navigation and focus state management
Descriptive and legible UI text
Accessible form development
Optimized screen reader announcements
Conduct Regular Accessibility Audits Review components and systems for compliance with accessibility standards
Provide Expert Guidance Respond to coworkers accessibility inquiries and provide accurate, compliant resolutions
Collaborate Crossfunctionally Work with backend engineers, product designers, and product managers
Triage and Prioritize Manage accessibility issues based on severity, impact, and urgency
Documentation and Testing Maintain comprehensive documentation and write tests that validate accessibility functionality
Expert knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and WAIARIA 1.2
Proficiency with screen readers (VoiceOver for Mac, JAWSNVDA for Windows) and accessibility testing tools (Axe, Google Lighthouse)
Experience building usercentric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems
Expert knowledge of modern web standards and frontend engineering tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, REST API, GraphQL, TypeScript, NodeNPM, Responsive UI)
Understanding of cloud technologies and endtoend delivery of dataintensive SaaS products
Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n)
Experience with frontend frameworks such as ReactNext.js, Vue, Ember, or Lit
Knowledge of CICD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
Passion for UX consistency, accessibility, and empathy for the end user
Familiarity with Section 508 audits and compliance, European Accessibility Act (EAA), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
IAAP certifications such as CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies), WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist), or CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility)
Experience integrating aXe Core into CICD pipelines
Experience conducting user testing with people with disabilities
Contributions to opensource accessibility projects or tools
Experience training and educating team members on accessibility principles and best practice
