Position Summary:

The Application Analyst III is a senior experienced position that serves as the final escalation point for daytoday application operations. The role requires a blending of technical skills with a reasonable comprehension of the operational department and their information systems tools and requirements. In addition, this role provides analytical expertise to information systems end users with the overall objective of improving the use of application systems functionality. This role requires deep functional and operational knowledge of multiple application areas, leads end users and delivery teams in the optimization of functionality, and designs enhanced functionality with users, vendors, delivery and support team. This role is able to apply the concepts of systems analysis to solve complex system problems, lead the effort to identify and resolve system issues, and coach and mentor application analysts in their troubleshooting capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Epic Accreditation or Certification, examples including but not limited to Epic Willow, Epic Beaker, Epic Ambulatory, Epic MyChart.
  • Four (4) years of work experience managing the Epic module(s) applicable to certification(s).
  • Current Bozeman Health IT Department employees with three (3) years of service as an Application Analyst may obtain new Epic certification in jobassigned Epic module within six (6) months of position start. Must remain working in jobassigned Epic module for one (1) year after earning new certification.
    • Preferred

      • Five (5) years of work experience in a similar position in healthcare.
      • Multiple relevant Epic Accreditations or Certifications

          • Gathers and analyzes data, documents findings, provides impact and costbenefit analysis, and recommends specific systems changesenhancements.
          • Develops functional and technical specifications for internal and external systems requirements.
          • Prepares time estimates for project activities and develops project schedules, monitors performance and reports progress toward those milestones.
          • Analyzes information flows to ensure greater integration of functions within the organization.
          • Serves as the primary analytical resource for end users and vendors regarding issues of application deployment, workflow, and overall system effectiveness.
          • Adheres to and enhances quality assurance standards and systems development and delivery methodologies.
          • Understands and applies system planning tools and methodologies to ensure compliance with standards.
          • Analyzes production problems and identifies solutionschanges; works with application vendors to resolve.
          • Provides project or support leadership, develops and manages project or support plans, manages one low to medium risk projects at a time.
          • Identifies and sets priorities for project and support teams.
          • Translates specific requirements into configuation plans.
          • Evaluates viability of proposed solutions
          • Identifies and addresses implementation or support design issues.
          • Provides build guidance to junior team members.
          • Less than 20% travel required to support new implementation, learningtraining objectives and IT initiatives

                  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

                      Exposures (Rarely): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
