Role Summary

The Manager of Energy Controls is responsible for developing, overseeing, and enforcing energy system safety and change control governance across the data center portfolio. This hybrid role spans the entire facility lifecycle—from design review through commissioning and into ongoing operations—ensuring safe energization, methodical change management, and alignment with organizational standards for operational discipline. While not a utilities design or delivery role, this position acts as a critical checkandbalance within the operations team, holding signatory authority over energyrelated changes and systemlevel work execution.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings or for site visits.

Location: Denver, CO (hybrid inoffice role)

Compensation: $130$165K (Offers Bonus)

Essential Responsibilities

  • Energy Governance & Safety Oversight

    • Own the policies, standards, and approval processes for energy system safety and energization procedures across all sites

    • Act as a signatory authority for energyrelated Method of Procedures (MOPs), supporting the safe execution of maintenance, testing, and commissioning work

    • Collaborate with site and engineering teams to evaluate and approve energy risk mitigation strategies, including lockouttagout protocols, sequence of operations, and isolation schemes

      • Change Control & Commissioning Interface

        • Partner with the Manager, Change Control – Operations to evaluate proposed changes to energy systems and ensure alignment with operational, safety, and reliability requirements

            • Engage during commissioning and early occupancy to validate operational readiness and safe transition from construction to live operations

                • Review and validate electrical onelines, energy sequencing, and equipment labeling for accuracy and compliance

                  • Procedural Development & Documentation

                    • Author, standardize, and maintain MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs related to energy systems and control points across the portfolio

                        • Support the development and implementation of energy control training programs for sitelevel teams and contractors

                          • CrossFunctional Collaboration

                                    • Leverage operational data, energy use trends, and incident history to drive reliability improvements and procedural refinements

                                        • Benchmark across facilities to identify opportunities to optimize operational safety without compromising uptime or performance
