Role Summary
The Manager of Energy Controls is responsible for developing, overseeing, and enforcing energy system safety and change control governance across the data center portfolio. This hybrid role spans the entire facility lifecycle—from design review through commissioning and into ongoing operations—ensuring safe energization, methodical change management, and alignment with organizational standards for operational discipline. While not a utilities design or delivery role, this position acts as a critical checkandbalance within the operations team, holding signatory authority over energyrelated changes and systemlevel work execution.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings or for site visits.

Compensation: $130$165K (Offers Bonus)
Essential Responsibilities
Energy Governance & Safety Oversight
Own the policies, standards, and approval processes for energy system safety and energization procedures across all sites
Act as a signatory authority for energyrelated Method of Procedures (MOPs), supporting the safe execution of maintenance, testing, and commissioning work
Collaborate with site and engineering teams to evaluate and approve energy risk mitigation strategies, including lockouttagout protocols, sequence of operations, and isolation schemes
Change Control & Commissioning Interface
Partner with the Manager, Change Control – Operations to evaluate proposed changes to energy systems and ensure alignment with operational, safety, and reliability requirements
Engage during commissioning and early occupancy to validate operational readiness and safe transition from construction to live operations
Review and validate electrical onelines, energy sequencing, and equipment labeling for accuracy and compliance
Procedural Development & Documentation
Author, standardize, and maintain MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs related to energy systems and control points across the portfolio
Support the development and implementation of energy control training programs for sitelevel teams and contractors
CrossFunctional Collaboration
Work closely with Facilities Operations, Engineering, and HSE peers to identify risks, recommend system improvements, and align on root cause investigations
Provide subject matter expertise for internal audits, customer escalations, or postevent reviews related to power systems
Data & Continuous Improvement
Leverage operational data, energy use trends, and incident history to drive reliability improvements and procedural refinements
Benchmark across facilities to identify opportunities to optimize operational safety without compromising uptime or performance
Education, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, data analytics, facilities management, or related field
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in highreliability, technically intensive operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing teams, vendors, and systems in highstakes operational settings
Experience in data center or highly regulated, equipmentintensive environments preferred
Extensive experience developing, managing, and executing OPEX budgets, focusing on forecasting accuracy, expenditure tracking, and variance analysis
Working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., IBM Maximo) and equipment maintenance principles
Experience in monitoring facilitiesrelated lease obligations, ensuring operational and financial compliance with lease terms, including expense recoveries, maintenance responsibilities, and capital improvement provisions
Strong crossfunctional collaborator, able to work with site staff, finance partners, and operational leadership
