Software Engineer 2 Backend, Apps Foundation

About the Role

Abnormal Security is looking for a Backend Engineer to join the App Foundations team. We are in the The MPP division and this team builds the infrastructure, services, and features that are core to the platform and enable the creation and launch of new products.

• What you will do:

  • Work with engineers, designers, PMs, EMs to deliver on the product roadmap and meet companywide objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain new high performance, low latency products and services
  • Work closely with engineering and product managers to assess tradeoffs, develop plans, and build platform and foundations to enable scalable product development
  • Optimize our internal processes with automation such that we can service customers with little to no human intervention.
  • Setup and maintain instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting for our services.

  • Must Have Skills:

    • 3+ years working on relevant tech stacks Python (Django) and Go, MySQL & PostgreSQL databases, ElasticSearch, Redis, and Kafka
    • 2+ years of production support experience for enterpriseclass customers
    • At least 1 year of system design experience
    • Proven experience building and maintaining microservices.
    • Proven experience owning testing as well as the development of all software solutions
    • Proven experience working with agile development methodologies (both scrum and kanban)
    • Proven experience collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver world class products
    • A Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

      Base salary range:

      $148,800—$175,050 USD
