Call for Annotators – Cultural Shock Project (Multiple Language Pairs)

Project Overview:
We are currently recruiting annotators for a Cultural Shock Project that examines the experiences of cultural surprise or misunderstanding people encounter when visiting other countries.

Task Details:
Participants will be asked to rate 50 short statements—sourced from real social media content—based on how culturally surprising or unexpected they seem. Please note that some content may be culturally specific or sensitive.

• Estimated time commitment: Approx. 1.5 hours
• Platform: Hosted on the client’s platform
• Requirements: All participants must sign client paperwork and create a clientspecific work account before receiving access to the tool

• Eligibility Criteria:
  ✅ Native speaker from one of the following countries:

  • Italy, Germany, France, United States

  • ✅ Language pairs needed:

    • IT <> FR
    • IT <> DE
    • IT <> EN (UK variant)
    • DE <> FR
    • DE <> EN (UK variant)
    • EN (US variant) <> EN (UK variant)
    • FR <> EN (UK variant)

    • 🚫 Participants must NOT be located in:
      Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Mexico, North Korea, Panama, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine (Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk), United Kingdom, Venezuela
