Anti-Financial Crime – Country Anti-Money Laundering Officer, Japan – AVP

Details of the Division and Team:    

DB Japan covers includes the DB core businesses of Corporate Banking (Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Trade Finance) and Investment Banking (Fixed Income, Corporate Finance). Japan AFC overseas the Anti-Financial Crime risk and controls in relation to these business areas including sanctions and embargoes, KYC for new and onboarded clients, transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction reports and anti-bribery and corruption.

There is an open position for an Assistant Vice President in Japan AFC. The role would be to support the senior Team members in implementing and reviewing controls and requirements in relation to sanctions and embargos, KYC, Anti-Social Forces (“ASF”) controls, Suspicious Activity Reports and local and global Risk Assessments.

Your key responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis and implement control on local regulatory requirements and global policy requirements in relation to all AFC areas, including sanctions, KYC, AML, transaction monitoring, anti-bribery and corruption regulations etc.
• Assist the AFC team in implementing global projects and requirements:
• Updating policies, testing controls, closing outstanding issues.
• Providing updates on regulatory information as required and upon request
• Conduct local and globally risk assessments and controls testing to comply with the Global assurance program.
• Support the AML function for various reporting requirements to the regulator, law enforcement and management committees.
• Support internal and external AML/CFT related inspections
• Support training initiatives

Your skills and experience:

• Understanding of or experience in transaction banking products and business areas strongly preferred
• AFC experience preferred
• AFC Qualifications e.g. CAMS a plus
• Willing to build understanding of local AFC related regulations, including the FX Law, Financial Crime Law and FSA/MOF Guidelines
• Proficient in Japanese language and business English language level
• Attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
