Job description

Description

At Paymentology, we’re redefining what’s possible in the payments space. As the first truly global issuer-processor, we give banks and fintechs the technology and talent to launch and manage Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay cards at scale - across more than 60 countries.

Our advanced, multi-cloud platform delivers real-time data, unmatched scalability, and the flexibility of shared or dedicated processing instances. It's this global reach and innovation that sets us apart.

We’re looking for two Data Engineers for a temporary, 6-month contract to design and build robust data pipelines and data lakes that power data-driven decision-making. This role is essential in ensuring our data infrastructure is scalable, efficient, and secure, while supporting critical business analytics and reporting capabilities.

If you’re experienced in designing data pipelines and building robust cloud-native data infrastructure, this is your opportunity to make a global impact.

What you get to do:

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large volumes of data with high reliability and low latency.
  • Architect and build data lakes that support flexible, secure, and efficient access to business-critical information.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and data availability.
  • Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of existing data systems through continuous improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to data compliance, privacy, and security regulations.

Requirements

What it takes to succeed:

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data stack tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience implementing production-grade data infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of database systems, especially PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including replication and networking configurations.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science).
  • Proven experience with data pipeline architecture and deployment in high-scale environments.
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and workflow orchestration tools.

What you can look forward to:

At Paymentology, it’s not just about building great payment technology, it’s about building a company where people feel they belong and their work matters. You’ll be part of a diverse, global team that’s genuinely committed to making a positive impact through what we do. Whether you’re working across time zones or getting involved in initiatives that support local communities, you’ll find real purpose in your work - and the freedom to grow in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
