Overview:

The Desktop Engineering Audit and Policy Engineer is a key contributor to ISS’s global IT Services organization. The successful candidate will assist with the monitoring and reporting to the Desktop Engineering and larger IT teams. The position may also provide 3rd level global support as required to ISS offices across US, EMEA and APAC. A successful Audit and Policy enjoys the challenge of managing, documenting, and verifying the processes and technologies used by our workforce in their daytoday operations. In addition, the Engineer should be able to evaluate and provide feedback to management on issues and status and help use this feedback to assist the Desktop Engineering team in designing and deploying solutions to improve resource efficiency and availability.

The Engineer must be able to quickly become familiar with new technologies, processes, and practices to determine the best approach for meeting the business needs while complying with established guidelines and policies. Likewise, the Engineer should possess the necessary skills and business knowledge to know when it is appropriate to report on any concerns. They should be able to think on their feet and be confident handling issues. Solid technical expertise, ability to prioritize, project management, willingness to learn, and excellent customer care skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit and Policy Engineer for the Desktop Engineering team.
  • Foster an engaging, proactive and collaborative service department that is closely partnered, and clearly communicates, with the business and across IT departments.
  • Assist team responsible for Windows 11 deployments, application packaging creation, verification, and deployment processes be ensuring processes are maintained and documentation is up to date.
  • Conduct audits for unlicensed software; research, troubleshoot, and resolve process issues.
  • Manage Office365 and Exchange Online, including users, groups, tenants and migrations, and policies.
  • Work with other IT departments as necessary to assist with the planning, design, configuration, implementation, and deployment of applications and management systems.
  • Build, configure, deploy, and support ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Work with other IT departments to ensure deployed hardware and operating systems are compliant with security standards, routinely patched and vulnerabilities are addressed.

  • Troubleshoot basic network, software, and printing problems.
  • Excellent communicator with business users, management, and team members regarding status of activities.
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing images, equipment, and software.
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
  • Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
  • Assess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
  • Desire to take advantage of training and learning opportunities
  • Ability to function effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Work collaboratively with 1st2nd3rd level support team to ensure that customers receive timely service.
  • Document IT desktop procedures as directed.
  • Apply a “business” focus to all assignments and responsibilities, measurement of results, and associated reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of related global support standards, processes and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
