Job description

We're seeking a Senior Character Artist to join our core game development team and play a crucial role in crafting the iconic characters that populate game worlds.

As a Senior Character Artist you will be:

  • Modelling, texturing and implementation of real-time character models
  • Contributing to the references, concepts, and art direction, while also having the initiative to take the work further independently
  • Working closely with the team and external partners to ensure that quality is consistent and cohesive

Requirements:

  • Shipped a PC/Console title as a Senior Character Artist
  • 5+ years of experience in AAA game development (PC and/or console)
  • Experience with creating characters for First and/or Third person shooters
  • Demonstrated ability in designing and crafting characters
  • Experience with delivering stylized characters
  • Proficient knowledge of Unreal Engine, Maya / Modo / MudBox / ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter or equivalent package
  • Having a mind for technical function and aesthetic pursuit with an ability to balance creativity with function
  • Ability to work within gameplay design restraints (environment scale, character abilities, prototype function, etc.) and translate those restrictions into visuals that enhance the experience
  • Delivered ready to be implemented high and low poly models for Unreal engine or similar
  • English proficiency at least at B2 level

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Interest and understanding of realistic art
  • Excellent understanding of form, shape, structure, and anatomy
  • Strong traditional art skills such as painting, drawing or sculpting
