Job description

Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?

How we started:

Back in 2013, our founder Dwayne D’Souza saw an opportunity to give people faster and more convenient access to medications using technology. We've grown rapidly since our inception, without any external funding whatsoever – achieving profitability through innovation and a highly disciplined approach to growth.

Where we are now:

We’ve earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through our top-selling products and well-known brands: MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A lot of our success is down to having our own pharmacies, manufacturers and products – spearheaded by leading in-house medical teams, researchers and pharmacists. Between 2023 and 2024 our global revenue tripled; £60m to £180m (300% year-on-year growth). We're looking to do the same in 2025; move into new territories, and further accelerate our growth journey. There’s never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX.

Where we’re going:

Over the next five years, you’ll support our goal to become a world-leading healthcare partner, deepening our customer relationships, expanding into new countries, and diversifying our product portfolio to treat more conditions. You’ll be part of helping more people access prescription treatments and, most importantly, making personalised care better, quicker and easier for everyone.

Come be a part of making our dream of easier and faster healthcare a reality!

The Opportunity:

As a Side Effects Management Nurse in our UK weight loss service, you will be a senior clinical voice, setting the standard for clinical excellence, patient safety and wellbeing within the clinical team. This role will work closely with HeliosX’s Ops Team Leads & GP Leads to provide safe and effective care to our UK patients.

The right candidate will be experienced in triaging unwell patients in a primary or secondary care environment and a confident and compassionate communicator with excellent patient care skills.

Preference is for this role to be full time (4 long days/week), including 1 weekend per month. The full time hours shifts would be between 10am - 8pm.

This role is a 6 month remote contract, with a requirement to come to the London office on occasion (2-3 times per year) for training and workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support & Patient Safety

  • Work remotely using our EHR (secure Electronic Health Records System)
  • Triage and manage patient-reported side effects, including identifying red flag symptoms and initiating appropriate action or escalation.
  • Provide high-quality clinical advice, guidance, and reassurance to patients regarding their treatment and side effects.
  • Follow established clinical pathways and protocols to ensure consistent and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Respond to patient queries (via phone and email) promptly and empathetically, maintaining high standards of care.

Clinical Risk Management & Escalation

  • Proactively identify, document, and escalate any clinical concerns or potential patient safety risks to the appropriate clinical lead or GP or healthcare facility.
  • Provide GP communication as required.
  • Liaising with Secondary healthcare facilities when referrals are required.
  • Participate in root cause analyses or case reviews following incidents or near misses, contributing to learning and service improvement.
  • Adhere to internal clinical governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management protocols.
  • Adhere to safeguarding principles and escalate concerns related to patient wellbeing, mental health, or vulnerable adults.
  • Reach out to patients proactively where appropriate, to follow up on side effects or ensure continuity of care.
