The Climate Finance Investment Management Team builds the investment readiness of NbS projects and programs, deploys climate finance investment capital, and provides ongoing support to build Investees’ business management capacity to deliver financial and impact returns. The GHG and Natural Resource Management Technical Team supports local partners and Investees in implementing activities on-the-ground, leveraging participatory local monitoring, and performing the work under the GHG and impact market standards to generate high-quality, multiple-benefit verified emission reductions and removals (VERRs). Having worked in over 40 countries, Terra Global has designed and supported the implementation and financing of NbS projects from the local to national scale.
Position Responsibilities
The NBS Portfolio Manager will support the analyze bankability of NbS Projects and Programs in developing countries, contribute to the Investment Readiness process, support the management of a portfolio of NbS Projects.
Support the Development Bankability of NbS Projects
Evaluate projects that have been screened by the sourcing team and develop carbon eligibility assessments including:
Evaluate and document local laws and land tenure
Collect, analyze, and validate data required to build detailed project budgets
Prepare investment models and analysis financial returns
Develop institutional arrangements for investment
Evaluate risks of VERRs reversals
Work with target investees to provide climate finance training and get their inputs into the process
Act as project manager, working with technical team project manager, to deliver Carbon Eligibility Assessments
Support Building Investment Readiness
Support process with investees to build Investment Readiness including but not limited to:
Investees policies and procedures
Benefits allocation
Community engagement
Feedback, Grievance ad Redress
Contribute to investment due diligence
Support preparation investment memos for the Investment Committee
Support proposal preparation of non-investment funds on behalf of target investee to increase bankability
Post-Investment
Support portfolio manager in overseeing active investment
Prepare and delivery business training and monitoring support to building capacity of investee groups
Support the monitorinng and delivery of business plans by investee project and companies
Support the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual project activity monitoring, financial and ESG reports
Essential Skills and Qualifications
This remote position is for either an Associate depending on experience. Associates require 2-5 years related experience
Require Skills and Experience
Experience in the design, development and implementation of nature-based projects and programs in developing countries
Excellent excel modeling skills
Fluent Spanish speaker
Experience in building NbS project implementation budgets
Proficient in assessing the financial viability and business models of NbS projects
Demonstrated experience in managing investments and/or credit lines for NbS, agriculture and/or forestry projects
Knowledge of NbS emission reduction market standards and processes for generating verified emission reductions
Demonstrated experience in managing projects with a diverse set of partners to deliver on finance, social and environmental returns
Demonstrated experience in the performance monitoring for projects and proposal development for complementary funding sources

Strong oral and written communication skills in English, required second language Spanish or French
A self-starter with proven ability to work independently but also in a multi-disciplinary remote team setting
Compensation for US or EU based staff will range from USD $50,000 to USD 75,000 depending on experience and the cost of living of your home office location.
