The Director of Compliance is responsible for managing all aspects of the Regulatory Compliance Framework for US-based entities and supporting ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements affecting them.  As such, the Director will assist the Chief Compliance Officer in identifying and assessing compliance risks, informing and advising the Company of its compliance responsibilities, overseeing compliance efforts and controls in the first and second lines of defense, performing testing and monitoring activities to assess compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements, and reporting compliance matters to senior management and the Board.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads a team of Compliance professionals and holds them accountable for maintaining established standards
  • Responsible for compensation, performance appraisals, staff development, training, etc. of staff with particular focus on growth through coaching
  • Implements, maintains, and oversees all components of the Regulatory Compliance Framework for US-based entities using designated compliance technology
  • Supports a global compliance function by partnering with other compliance leaders
  • Analyzes and provides credible challenges to the team’s assessment of the control environment, risk assessments, testing, corrective action plans, and responses to regulatory issues and complaints
  • Develops compliance routines to support oversight of areas under their purview
  • Assesses compliance risks and controls while demonstrating consideration for the Company's reputation
  • Identifies and evaluates emerging risks and presents findings using various tools, including data analytics
  • Partners with others throughout the organization to support ongoing compliance with policy mandates and regulatory requirements
  • Participates in the development and approval of business changes, projects, and other items that impact regulatory compliance
  • Provides reports on compliance activities for management and the Board
  • Informs senior management of significant compliance matters that require their attention or action
  • Participates in discussions with regulators in connection with inquiries, inspections, and exams

  • Safeguards EZCORP, its clients, and their assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy requirements, and applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of related experience in highly regulated industries
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred or relevant, equivalent experience
  • Industry recognized compliance certifications preferred
