Job description

This is a remote position.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Microsoft Business Central Developer with strong expertise in ETL, SQL, Excel, Azure and Power BI. This role will be responsible for designing and customising Business Central solutions, building robust data pipelines anddelivering insightful Power BI dashboards that support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Business Central, experience working with large data sets and the ability to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions in a cloud environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop and customise solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) using AL language and extension methodologies.

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to support system integrations and analytics.

  • Create and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.

  • Use advanced Excel tools (e.g., Power Query, pivot tables, VBA) for data analysis and reporting.

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that visualise key business metrics and KPIs.

  • Build and maintain data models and datasets within Power BI.

  • Leverage Azure services (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps) to manage data workflows and integrations.

  • Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable dashboards.

  • Develop and maintain API integrations, web services and data connections between Business Central and external systems.

  • Document customisations, data flows and report specifications thoroughly.

  • Support Business Central users by troubleshooting technical issues and providing guidance.



Requirements

SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience developing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV).

  • Proficiency in AL Language and the Business Central development environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory).

  • Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, pivot tables andformula-based analysis.

  • Strong SQL skills – capable of writing complex queries and optimising performance.

  • Experience in developing interactive dashboards in Power BI, including data modelling.

  • Working knowledge of Azure services used for data integration and analytics.

  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, OData andJSON for data exchange.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Microsoft certifications in Business Central, Azure, SQL Server, or Power BI.

  • Experience with Power Automate, Logic Apps, or CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of financial, supply chain, or operational processes within ERP systems.

  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
