Become an EXpert as a Project Manager – Embedded Systems

We're currently seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in embedded systems and certification-driven software development to join a mission-critical initiative for a U.S.-based client in the technology sector.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who excels at managing complex software projects and enjoys working in fast-paced environments where safety, performance, and reliability are key.

📅 This is a 6-month contract position with strong potential for extension or conversion to permanent.

What You’ll Do

Lead embedded software projects from pre-sales discovery through execution, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery.
Act as the primary point of contact for client engagements, maintaining strong alignment with technical and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and finance teams to develop detailed project proposals, including Statements of Work, risk assessments, cost estimates, and resource plans.
Manage day-to-day execution of technically complex initiatives involving real-time or safety-critical systems.
Facilitate internal and customer-facing meetings, presenting technical and project updates with clarity and confidence.
Monitor and optimize project performance, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks and ensure customer satisfaction.
Guide cross-functional project teams and, over time, potentially manage other project managers or engineers.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and delivery standards.

What You’ll Bring

7+ years of experience managing engineering projects, specifically in embedded systems or real-time OS environments (VxWorks, QNX, RTLinux, etc.).
Solid understanding of software certification standards such as DO-178C, IEC 61508, or IEC 62304.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Strong planning, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with customers and internal teams.
Experience coordinating with international or distributed development teams is a plus.
Availability to travel domestically or internationally up to 10% of the time.

Nice to Have

Certification in project management (e.g., PMP or similar).
Experience in markets such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, or industrial automation.
Familiarity with project estimation tools and risk modeling.
