Job description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year - if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later).

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers, don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas - they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

We’re hiring a Senior Video Editor to partner with our client, a DTC brand that’s disrupting the beard and haircare industry. As part of a high-growth creative marketing team, you’ll play a lead role in producing and optimizing video ad content that performs across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.

This is a hands-on creative execution role ideal for someone who brings both storytelling instinct and a deep understanding of performance marketing principles.

Accountability

As a Senior Video Editor, your success will be measured by your ability to create high-performing, scroll-stopping ad content that drives conversions. This includes owning the creative pipeline from concept to final export, analyzing ad performance, and iterating based on feedback and results. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Video Editing & Campaign Execution
  • Develop new ad concepts and prioritize video ideas based on strategic guidance.
  • Edit engaging video creatives for paid channels, tailoring content for Meta, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Create multiple variations of each video to test hooks, structures, lengths, and formats.
  • Incorporate direct response storytelling, product benefits, and strong CTA placement.

Performance-Driven Creative Optimization
  • Analyze key video performance metrics (e.g., thumbstop rate, hold rate, CTR, CAC).
  • Use data insights to revise pacing, messaging, and visual structure.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify what’s working, why, and what to test next.
  • Scale successful concepts into long-form or multi-platform campaigns.
Content Reuse & Asset Management
  • Repurpose existing footage for new concepts while maintaining freshness.
  • Incorporate UGC, product shots, testimonials, and graphics for maximum engagement.
  • Use overlays, captions, and motion design to enhance storytelling without clutter.
  • Manage and organize creative files to support efficient production workflows.

Colleagues

You’ll be embedded within a small, collaborative creative team. You’ll work closely with strategists, content creators, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-converting creative.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Senior Video Editor, your vertical strength is performance video editing, while your horizontal range may include creative concepting, motion graphics, copy direction, and visual strategy.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with strong creative judgment and messaging alignment
  • Experience: 5+ years of video editing for DTC/eCommerce brands generating $10M+ in revenue; 3+ years editing Meta and YouTube ads
  • Performance Lens: Proven track record of creating high-ROAS ads, including at least 3 creatives with $500K+ spend
  • Editing Tools: Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects; familiarity with CapCut, Descript, DaVinci, or similar
  • Ad Fluency: Deep understanding of creative structure (hooks, pacing, CTA), especially for Meta and YouTube
  • Creative Testing: Confidence analyzing performance data and adjusting video structures accordingly
  • Sound Design: Skilled at selecting music, balancing audio, and enhancing storytelling through sound
  • Adaptability: Comfort working with tight turnarounds, remote team dynamics, and evolving brand needs

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Creative Judgment: How do you decide what stories to tell or how to structure a winning ad?
  • Performance Alignment: How do you use data to evaluate and improve your edits?
  • Platform Expertise: What are the differences in editing for Meta, YouTube, and TikTok?
  • Collaboration: How do you communicate with non-editors or strategists to improve a final cut?
  • Execution Speed: How do you balance quality with speed in a performance-driven creative pipeline?

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
