About the role

We are seeking for a Security Manager to oversee our IT systems and security measures. This role requires a balanced mix of IT management expertise and robust security knowledge to build, maintain, and protect our technical environment. 

 

Location

All Chainstack roles are fully remote. To create the best experience for your future colleagues, this role requires that you be based within the EMEA time zone.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive IT systems and security measures to safeguard our data, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Design and architect cybersecurity solutions, including the configuration and maintenance of software and hardware security tools.
  • Identify, document, and address security vulnerabilities while implementing effective remediation strategies.
  • Lead and manage IT operations, including network maintenance, system updates, and overall IT service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO) through proactive audits, risk assessments, and remediation efforts.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and execute preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Manage security incidents by developing and executing effective remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to integrate IT and security best practices across the organization.
  • Educate and train staff on IT security protocols and emerging threat landscapes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT management and IT security.
  • Solid knowledge of security fundamentals such as authentication/authorization, certificate/secret management, cloud security, access control, networking and Linux security, and protection against web threats.
  • Practical experience with security testing and preventive tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, IAST, WAF, CSPM).
  • Demonstrated IT management experience with the ability to oversee network infrastructure, system updates, and technical support.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven capability to prioritize and manage projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Basic coding skills in Python or Go.
  • Experience in preparing for and achieving certifications such as SOC2 or ISO.
  • Professional security certifications like CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or CISM.
