As a Mortgage Underwriter with Banner Bank you will apply the underwriting standards adopted by the Board of Directors, Investors, Agencies, and all regulatory and/or policy requirements.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to:
Responsible for underwriting residential loan applications to ensure compliance with Investors, Banner Bank Portfolio, all secondary marketing conduits and private mortgage insurance companies.
Facilitate and support all loan production staff in matters of residential underwriting.
Assist loan officers and processors with origination of complex and/or problematic loans.
Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
Education & Certifications
H.S. Diploma: required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience
4 or more years of experience in mortgage underwriting required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of 1-4 family loan underwriting guidelines, including all loan types/programs.
Possess strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work within defined timeframes and make deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office products including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to underwriting.
Compensation & Benefits
Targeted starting hourly range (based on experience): $27.09 - $35.69
