The Commercial division is Allianz Australias largest distribution channel whose customers include Commercial, Corporate and international buyer groups throughout Australia and New Zealand. We currently have an opening for a Senior Property Underwriter to join the Melbourne team to work on ISR property business, focusing on both new business and renewals.
About the role
- Underwriting complex new business and renewals in line with the AAL Underwriting Framework, ASU, and delegated authority limits.
- Providing technical leadership, coaching, and support to regional underwriters and contributing to a highperforming, collaborative team.
- Managing workflows for complex accounts to ensure highquality service delivery and alignment with growth and profitability goals.
- Identifying and converting profitable new business opportunities while maintaining strong retention rates through effective broker engagement.
- Building strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and providing accurate risk assessments and escalation recommendations.

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and industry accreditations, with extensive experience in a commercial underwriting role within a complex, matrixed general insurance organization. Experience in underwriting ISR risks nis required.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships, exchange industry knowledge, and achieve beneficial outcomes.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Indepth understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements impacting the organization.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering highquality services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and making informed, datadriven decisions
