This is a newly created Finance Analyst role designed to support the Marketing Finance and Marketing teams, focusing on Marketing & Loyalty investments across Dan Murphy's, BWS, and the Group Marketing portfolio. Notably, this position includes a fantastic secondment opportunity to join the Dan Murphy's finance team, providing invaluable experience and insight. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management and communication skills, coupled with a passion for driving continuous improvement in finance's partnership with the brands and the group marketing matrix.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

  • Manage the Dan’s and BWS marketing spend trackers - ensure marketing investment is well documented and understood, including the management of monthly accruals are in line with accounting standards
  • Stakeholder management - work with stakeholders to ensure reporting and commentary is effective and insightful for decision making
  • Group marketing - support understanding of total marketing investment across the EDG group
  • Support the BWS and Dan’s finance teams to effectively prepare the annual budget and forecast process, working with key stakeholders to align on assumptions
  • Ad hoc analysis, including business case development, and decision support, as required
  • Develop and implement process improvements to ensure a standard, lean and efficient marketing finance trackers and consistent ways of working across both Dan’s and BWS
  • Lead the improvement in understanding, tracking and reporting marketing investment across the Group
  • Effectively partner through ways of working with key stakeholders
  • Clear and effective communication across multiple groups of stakeholders
  • Work across Finance to implement best practices and improved ways of working, systems and process

Qualifications

  • CA / CPA / CIMA qualified, or working towards
  • Advanced time management and prioritisation skills
  • Adaptable and effective in complex and ambiguous environments
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills (desirable)
  • Able to communicate complex financial information simplistically
  • Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, GCP, Google suite (desirable)
  • Strong presentation skills
