About the Role: 

The Data Management Associate is an entry-level role within our Information Technology department, directly supporting the Systems Design Architect. This foundational role is critical to maintaining the upkeep and efficiency of our data systems. You will play a key part in documenting data specifications and assisting colleagues in understanding and effectively utilizing our data management systems.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Data System Support & Maintenance: Provide essential support for our data management systems, which includes monitoring performance, assisting with installations and upgrades, and ensuring the success and validation of data backups and restoration procedures.
  • Data Solution Implementation & Optimization: Implement and deploy data management solutions by developing databases, creating associated data objects, and formulating comprehensive data retention and recovery plans to optimize performance and ensure system resilience.
  • Data Integrity & Documentation: Analyze and rectify inadequacies in data management specifications, identifying and addressing potential issues and logical errors, and thoroughly documenting all implementation decisions using Unified Modeling Language (UML) specifications.
  • User & Environment Management: Manage user access by registering new users and allocating appropriate access levels, and assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining our development, test, and live IT environments.
  • Technology & Project Collaboration: Stay informed about new data management technologies (like data syncing, warehousing, and disaster recovery) , maintain system security , and provide database-level code writing and deployment. You will also coordinate with the Project Manager on scheduling and executing projects.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with the Data Management Specialist and provide technical assistance and knowledge sharing to all IT staff, ensuring clear communication to both technical and non-technical individuals regarding trade-offs and design decisions.
Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Education/Experience: Associate's Degree (AS, AAS) or 60 credit hours in an Information Technology discipline, OR a minimum of one year of professional IT experience.
  • Key Skills: Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical concepts and a desire for continuous learning and professional development.
