We give our team the space they need to deliver results and the environment to ensure they can enjoy doing it.

We are looking for highly motivated  individuals who are excited to take on challenges and value making a difference in their day-to-day work. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the emerging Digital Pathology field.

Role Overview

  • As our UK Senior Integration Manager, you will spearhead complex integration projects for histopathology laboratories across the UK.
  • You will translate UK-specific operational and regulatory needs into scalable IT solutions, bridging LIMS/LIS, Digital Pathology PACS, digital slide imaging, and related systems.
  • You will be the primary technical authority for UK clients, leading the integration engineers to ensure seamless connectivity, compliance with NHS standards and alignment with strategic digital pathology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & UK Market Planning

  • Conduct detailed assessments of UK laboratory workflows, including NHS Trust pathology networks and independent sector labs.
  • Define integration roadmaps aligned to UK healthcare priorities (e.g., NHS Long Term Plan, Pathology Networks).
  • Leverage HL7, DICOM WSI, and FHIR standards to design interoperable solutions tailored for UK regulatory requirements.

Technical Architecture & Implementation

  • Architect and deploy integration frameworks connecting UK-prevalent LIMS/LIS systems with Digital Pathology PACS platforms, middleware and UK NHS Spine APIs.
  • Collaborate with UK-based cybersecurity and Information Governance teams to embed security-by-design practices in line with NHS IG Toolkit and GDPR.

Project Management & Vendor Coordination

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of UK integration projects, managing timelines, budgets, and quality in accordance with NHS procurement frameworks and PRINCE2 methodology.
  • Serve as principal liaison with UK-based vendors, NHS procurement leads, and service integrators—negotiating contracts under UK public sector T&Cs.
  • Establish and enforce UK-specific integration standards, SLAs and governance structures aligned to NHS commissioning requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Engage with UK pathology directors, NHS IT leads, UK Cancer Alliances and private lab executives to gather requirements and present integration strategies.
  • Facilitate steering committees and technical forums, delivering updates that reflect UK policy shifts (e.g., digital pathology adoption targets).
  • Provide technical mentorship to UK-based team members on integration best practices and emerging UK health IT trends.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify UK regulatory and operational risks—develop mitigation plans addressing MHRA, GDPR, and UK Health Security Agency requirements.
  • Monitor integration performance and drive enhancements to meet UK Key Performance Indicators, such as turnaround times under the NHS Pathology Programme.
  • Stay ahead of UK digital pathology trends, including AI in histopathology and national digital reporting standards, to future-proof client investments.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage the UK Integration & Automation team, including recruitment under UK employment law, performance reviews and competency development.
  • Cultivate a UK-centric culture of excellence, ensuring effective onboarding and continuous professional development in collaboration with HR and UK Team Leads.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT architecture and systems integration within UK healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • In-depth expertise with UK LIMS/LIS platforms and digital pathology PACS.
  • Proven track record managing integration projects under UK public sector procurement and governance (PRINCE2, NHS frameworks).
  • Strong knowledge of UK healthcare regulations: NHS IG Toolkit, GDPR, MHRA, and UK NHS Digital standards.
  • Relevant certifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent; UK-specific integration or healthcare IT credentials a plus.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Solution Architect mindset to find solutions where typical HL7 integration might not be possible.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical capability in UK histopathology contexts.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging UK stakeholders and non-technical NHS teams.
  • Collaborative leadership style, adept at cross-functional teamwork within UK healthcare settings.

Key Skills & Client Engagement

  • Client Qualification & Discovery: Lead qualification workshops, assess client readiness, and define project scope aligned with business goals.
  • Solution Architecting: Design end-to-end architectures integrating LIMS/LIS, Digital Pathology PACS, middleware, and custom APIs for seamless data flow.
  • Implementation Oversight: Partner with solution delivery teams to manage system configuration, testing, and cutover activities, ensuring quality and timeline adherence.
  • Client Reviews & Governance: Conduct regular stakeholder reviews, present status updates, solicit feedback, and enforce governance processes.
  • Presales Support: Collaborate with sales teams to develop technical proposals, deliver solution demonstrations, and respond to RFPs with detailed integration strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage complex relationships across NHS Trusts, private labs, vendors, and internal teams to align objectives and drive project success.
  • UK LIS/PACS Deployment & Commissioning: Hands-on experience deploying and commissioning pathology LIMS/LIS (e.g., Clinisys WinPath/Horizon) or Digital Pathology PACS (e.g., Sectra, Fujifilm Synapse) within NHS environments, ensuring compliance with NHS IG Toolkit and local governance.
