You will be responsible for the UX role supporting the product area with your Senior Product Design knowledge to put together the best experience for our users. In this role, you will translate customer needs, doing research and putting business results and requirements into attractive, efficient and highly usable designs.
Requirements
The Credit Card Fraud Prevention Specialist plays a strategic role in safeguarding the institution’s assets and protecting our customers' experience against constantly evolving fraud threats. This professional will be responsible for deeply analyzing fraud patterns, developing, implementing, and optimizing innovative prevention strategies, and managing the performance of advanced detection and mitigation technologies. We are looking for a proactive, analytical, and collaborative individual, passionate about solving complex problems and staying at the forefront of financial fraud prevention.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields. Postgraduate education or certifications in fraud prevention (e.g., CFE) are a plus.
- Proven experience of 5+ years in fraud prevention, specifically within credit card issuers, banks, or fintechs offering payment products.
- Deep knowledge of various credit card fraud typologies (CNP, CP, ATO, synthetic identity, friendly fraud, etc.), their operating mechanisms, and associated attack vectors.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing complex datasets.
- Solid experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, DataBricks, or similar) for building dashboards and analytical reports.
- Practical knowledge and experience in configuring and optimizing rules in fraud prevention platforms (e.g., Cybersource Decision Manager, Feedzai, FICO Falcon, or proprietary solutions) and rule engines.
- Strong understanding of technologies such as 3D Secure (especially 3DS2), tokenization, and the fundamentals of AI/Machine Learning as applied to fraud detection.
- Familiarity with chargeback lifecycle, card network rules (Visa, Mastercard) for disputes, and fraud monitoring programs.
- Knowledge of relevant financial and payment industry regulations (e.g., LGPD, Brazilian Central Bank regulations on cybersecurity and fraud prevention, KYC/AML standards).

- Optimization of fraud detection rate, with early identification of new patterns and attacks.
- Minimization of false positive rate while maintaining a high approval rate for legitimate transactions, preserving customer experience.
- Improvement in representment success rate for fraud-related chargebacks.
- Successful development and implementation of new prevention strategies and rules with measurable impact.
- Positive feedback from internal stakeholders regarding the quality of insights provided, collaboration, and strategic support.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor transactions, accounts, and real-time fraud alerts, conducting in-depth investigations into suspicious activity to determine nature and impact.
- Analyze large volumes of transactional and behavioral data using advanced SQL and BI tools (such as Tableau/DataBricks) to identify fraud trends, emerging vulnerabilities, and develop actionable insights to enhance defenses.
- Develop, implement, continuously test, and optimize fraud prevention rules in decision engines and specialized platforms, seeking the ideal balance between risk detection and customer experience.
- Manage and optimize the performance of fraud prevention technologies, such as authentication systems (e.g., 3D Secure 2.0).
- Conduct detailed post-mortem analyses of significant fraud incidents to identify root causes, procedural or technological gaps, and recommend corrective and preventive improvements.
- Manage the lifecycle of fraud-related chargebacks, including dispute analysis, documentation for representment, and optimization of recovery rates in favor of the issuer.
- Collaborate actively with internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Operational Risk, Compliance, Customer Support, and Legal to align strategies, share fraud insights, and contribute to the development of safer products and processes.
- Stay rigorously updated on the latest fraud typologies (including but not limited to CNP fraud, Account Takeover (ATO), synthetic identity fraud, phishing, malware, and internal fraud), attack tactics, emerging prevention technologies, and industry regulatory changes.
- Prepare management reports, presentations, and dashboards covering fraud metrics, strategy performance, key KPIs, and ROI of prevention initiatives.
- Actively participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools, technologies, and fraud prevention solution providers.
