Job description

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Virtualization Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and virtualization technologies. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing virtualized workloads within OpenShift clusters while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

List of Competencies NM is looking for in the RH Consultant

RHOCP Commissioning and Deployment: 

Good hands-on experience in deployment of RHOCP on BareMetal Servers with external SAN Storage
Every release is bringing new issues. E.g. OCP 4.16 bonding is not working. Consultant needs to be on the toe knowing the releases changes w.r.t our usage of RHOCP
Up to date with all the OpenShift platform deployment variants and releases

RHOCP Upgrades: 

OCP upgrades
Operator upgrades (as this is failing every release for different reasons)
Understand clearly the upgrade paths of RHOCP mainly w.r.t our usage and context of OCP releases and upgrade cycles we use in NM
Security Hardening of RHOCP, Operators, OCP-V etc.
Advance Storage Technologies such as LVM, ISCSI, Multipath, SAN & NAS, Red Hat CEPH Storage (ODF)
Advance OCP Networking: Bonding, Bridging, Switching, VLAN Configuration, OVN, OVS, NAD, NNCP, Multus secondary network etc.

Disaster Recovery solution using OCP
Kernel and Performance tuning: Memory, I/O tuning, queue depths tuning, boosting storage IOPS by tuning at RHCOS level, OCP level etc.
Knowledge of Middleware services on OCP like Observability stack (monitoring, auditing and logging), Service Mesh, Secret Management (Vault) etc.
Backup and Restore of OCP and its workload
Consultant must be hands-on lab environment, good at Root cause analysis and has advance troubleshooting capabilities
Consultant can have excellent support internal inside Red Hat Engineering team to get our support tickets and troubleshooting moving
Consultant is having Red Hat Certification in key areas of RHOCP (Deployment, Configuration, Administration, Workload onboarding, OCP-V etc.)
Consultant helps us in prototyping and identifying appropriate solutions to achieve system requirements for OpenShift platform
Consultant understands our product requirements and helps in dimensioning and defining deployment architecture
Consultant can suggest improvements for the platform deployment and configuration on a continuous basis
Consultant can support us in debugging and resolving issues from field and internal verification rounds

    Preferred Skills:

Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Tekton)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Relevant certifications (RHCE, Red Hat OpenShift Specialist) preferred

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Red Hat certifications are a plus
