Job description

We are looking for a Dynatrace expert to join our team to help ensure that we are effectively using the platform to drive insights and improve system performance. This person will play a pivotal role in optimizing application performance monitoring and observability strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application monitoring, performance tuning, and analytics. This is a remote position supporting a Boston, MA based team.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary expert on Dynatrace, providing guidance and best practices for implementation and usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Dynatrace into our monitoring and observability framework.
  • Create dashboards, alerts, notifications for application performance monitoring.
  • Develop, fine-tune Dynatrace API integration to monitor Single Page Applications [SPA].
  • Develop click-through or drill-down capabilities to navigate between front-end and backend process.
  • Analyze application performance metrics and provide actionable insights to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports to monitor system health and performance.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members to promote best practices in using Dynatrace.
  • Stay updated on Dynatrace features, industry trends, and emerging technologies to ensure the organization is leveraging the platform to its fullest potential.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in collaboration with our client, development and operations teams.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing related to Dynatrace processes and procedures

Required Technologies and Skills:

Educational / Experience Foundations

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience for elder roles)
  • 1–5 years in IT: from support-level to engineering/consulting roles

Observability & Monitoring

  • Hands-on with Dynatrace or similar APM and observability platforms
  • Log analytics tools (Splunk, ElasticSearch, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of alerting, dashboards, performance issue resolution

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Network fundamentals: routing, load balancing, security, capacity planning
  • Virtualization, container technologies, Kubernetes, service mesh, serverless

Automation & DevOps

  • Infrastructure as code: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, GoCD, Jenkins, TFS
  • CI/CD pipelines and SRE/DevOps best practices
  • Scripting/programming: Java, .NET, C#, PHP, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, SQL

Operating Systems & Platforms

  • Windows & Linux administration experience
  • Desktop support familiarity (e.g., Windows client OS, Intune, Office 365 for support role)
  • PaaS solutions: Cloud Foundry, OpenShift

Support & Soft Skills

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Certification with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Customer-facing consulting and technical communication
  • Ability to demo solutions, manage POCs, work across teams/projects
  • Flexible work hours
  • Log collectors: FluentBit, OpenTelemetry, Cribl
  • Query languages: SQL, SPL, KQL
  • Experience working remote

The proposed salary for this position is:
$96,400$160,600 USD
