Job description

Position Title: System HRIS Analyst & Business Intelligence Specialist

Position Status: Exempt

Work Hours:  Mon–Fri. Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays; Secondary holidays may be a scheduled workday

Reports To: System Human Resource Manager

Location: Systems Office, Orchard Park, NY

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, offering the flexibility to work from home up to three days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration

Position Summary:

The HRIS Analyst / Business Intelligence Specialist position is a key position that supports all Human Resources technologies and systems. Responsible to maintain the integrity and reliability of the college’s HRIS, ensuring modules meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the HR department, Senior Leadership and campuses. Uses Business Intelligence/Cognos report writing skills to analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities. This position supports HR functions, including but not limited to benefits, compensation, compliance, performance management, and workforce analytics.  This position supports the Benefit and Retirement Specialist and will be a backup for this position. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1.  Assesses HRIS to identify and recommend solutions to align with the Human Resources Institutional Effectiveness Plan. This position requires a strong understanding of data management, report creation, and business intelligence tools.
  2.  Familiarity with UKG Recruiting, Onboarding, HR/Payroll Core, UTM/ Workforce Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Learning Management System (LMS -Percipio) Security, Workflows and EDI files.
  3.  Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS/HCM technology. Stays abreast of current trends and AI technologies
  4. Excellent Excel skills with the ability to analyze data to identify trends and opportunities with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  5. Strong customer service skills, including the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written format
  6. Critical problem solver with solid attention to detail
  7. Experience in business analysis and process improvement
  8. Ability to lead multiple projects and multi-task with internal and external teams
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate clearly with both internal partners and external development resources plus extensive experience in process documentation.
  10. Self-motivated, creative, and adaptable with clear analytical, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, or related field
  • Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience and proficiency with incorporating the use of technology
  • Strong HRIS and computer skills required, high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • UKG HRIS experience, Business Intelligence/Cognos Reporting required.
  • Expert UKG and Excel knowledge
  • 5 or more years of experience in HR/Payroll Data
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

Position requires standing or sitting in a stationary position as well as the occasional need to lift, carry, push, and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.

Position also requires the use of computer technology/equipment.

Position requires the ability to hear conversations and receive information in person and over the telephone.

Position requires the ability to convey detailed and important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

 

Background Check or Licensing Requirements:

 

This position requires a background check.

 

Salary Information: 

 

The base pay range for this role is between $70,000 - $75,000 per year and your base pay will depend your skills, qualifications, and experience.  Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
