Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with strong exposure to mortgage and property finance transactions within the Australian legal system. The ideal candidate will have at least 3–5 years of relevant experience in a legal support or conveyancing environment, assisting with mortgage documentation, settlements, and liaising with lenders, borrowers, and relevant third parties. Familiarity with PEXA, land registry systems, and financial institution requirements is essential. Prior experience in a remote, high-volume, or outsourced legal environment will be viewed favorably.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing mortgage documentation for property finance transactions.

  • Support legal teams with all aspects of the conveyancing and financing workflow including document preparation, file opening, settlement coordination, and post-settlement activities.

  • Liaise with lenders, clients, brokers, and external stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant settlements.

  • Perform property title checks, handle disbursement calculations, and manage PEXA lodgements.

  • Conduct legal administrative tasks such as compiling settlement packs, verifying compliance documents, and following up on outstanding conditions.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in digital case management systems and ensure procedural consistency.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and lender-specific requirements.



Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a mortgage or property finance legal support role, ideally in an Australian jurisdiction.

  • Strong understanding of Australian property finance processes and mortgage documentation.

  • Familiarity with PEXA and state-specific land registry systems.

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple transactions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience working in a remote legal environment or high-volume processing team is a plus
