Summary of Job Duties:
The clinical pharmacy specialist for solid organ transplant will provide consultative assistance to physicians, nurses, and other Solid Organ Transplant Team staff. This position will consult with physicians on appropriate therapeutic alternatives, monitor drug therapy, and provide drug information to professional staff upon request in all three phases of care: Pre-transplant, Inpatient transplant, and Post-transplant period.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and/or BS Pharmacy Degree plus 3 years of experience working as a clinical pharmacy specialist with direct patient care responsibility.

  • Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligible for licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in Solid Organ Transplant.

  • 5 years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist in a solid organ transplant setting

  • Board certification is preferred and required within 3 years of hire.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees patient care functions, including maintaining accurate records and refining medication therapies to improve treatment results.

  • Handles task prioritization, adjusts to shifts in practice, and addresses day-to-day operational challenges. Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Provides training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy students.

  • Participates in initiatives for process enhancement, policy revisions, or research activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.
