Job description

THE POSITION:


As a Business Development Associate at Austral, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities with the world’s leading Universities across multiple countries. You will work in close collaboration with Austral Group’s regional territory managers to identify business schools and programs that engage in global learning experiences and will qualify these new business possibilities through research and discovery conversations with the study trip leaders and program directors. 


Austral Education Group designs and organizes global business education experiences for universities, corporations and industry associations from around the world. Together with our clients, we create highly customized group-based learning programs involving travel or online delivery.


This is a full-time remote position for Latin America.


Your day-to-day responsibilities would include: 

  • Drive account outreach through lead generation activities and participation in University partner email communication, conversations, and meetings;
  • Determine which Austral Services and Products (Online vs Travel/Hybrid) are best suited to that customer;  
  • Develop a constant pipeline of new business opportunities through research of potential buyer profiles in conjunction with weekly/monthly production targets; 
  • Qualify inbound leads from the marketing team and from conference participation;
  • Update and maintain client account records through the CRM software;  
  • Summarize and transition qualified leads over to Austral’s Account Managers for further clarification of client needs and proposal development; 
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop relevant content, materials, and strategies for outreach campaigns; 
  • Implement the setup and lead the execution of outreach campaigns & cadences; 
  • Schedule video conference meetings with prospective clients;
  • Book in-person meetings for the sales team with prospective clients at regional and international education conferences; 
  • Evaluate new potential market segments within Higher Education or the Corporate World for Austral’s services; 



You will excel in this position if you:

  • Are fluent or native in English, with excellent speaking and writing skills (this is critical for success in the role).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of direct SDR experience in B2B business development and lead generation, with a strong track record of meeting quotas and qualifying business opportunities
  • Are passionate about employing new techniques and software to accelerate the sales process
  • Understand what it takes to hit activity metrics and pipeline goals in a consultative sales environment
  • Love crafting and curating the perfect written communication to develop curiosity in potential customers
  • Enjoy researching and analyzing buyer profiles and setting a strategy for subsequent engagement
  • Excel at qualifying sales leads and utilize a consultative sales approach
  • Have impeccable organization and time-management skills to handle multiple territories and account manager demands
  • Have experience working with Salesforce or alternative CRM systems
  • Have experience with Email Marketing tools and Campaign Management
  • Have experience in Digital Marketing and working with Sales Intelligence and Engagement systems
  • Bring a persistent, positive attitude and are willing to go the extra mile when following up with clients and prepping for client conversations
  • Work well in a fast-paced, multicultural team environment with a passion for education and travel
  • Possess a global mindset and inquisitive business or academic perspective to effectively engage with professors and university stakeholders
  • Possess knowledge of University purchasing processes and business school buyer personas
  • Have previous experience related to the Ed-Tech, higher education, and/or consulting sectors (preferred but not required).
