Senior Systems Administrator (Linux)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Expert with a strong background in Linux, Puppet, and automation technologies. While Azure experience is less critical it would be beneficial, proficiency in automation and a vision for moving towards a self-service model are essential. Additionally, experience in leveraging AI would be highly desirable.
In this role, you will be responsible as part of a team for managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on automation, scalability, and reliability. You will work with a wide array of technologies and tools, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins, to build and maintain robust cloud environments.
Essential Duties
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Linux environments.
- Develop automation scripts and processes, leveraging tools like Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform, to transition towards a self-service infrastructure model.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based applications, with a strong emphasis on AI and advanced cloud operations.
- Utilize Puppet and similar tools to manage configurations and automate infrastructure deployments.
- Work with a variety of DevOps and infrastructure tools such as Jenkins, Git, Argo CD, and Artifactory to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and log aggregation solutions using Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, and other relevant tools.
- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments through proper configuration management, networking, and identity management (AD, DNS, SSO).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud-native solutions and automate operational tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Strong experience in managing and optimizing Linux OS (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian) in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in using Puppet for configuration management and automation.
- Extensive experience with automation tools and scripts (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins) aimed at improving operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience in Kubernetes/EKS is highly preferred.
- Understanding of network configurations, security best practices, and technologies like VPNs, OpenVPN, and SSO.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Argo CD, and Artifactory.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and log aggregation platforms like ELK/OpenSearch.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (minimum C1/C2 level desired).

Work Timing
Rotation Shift 6 am -3pm/1pm -10pm IST and available for critical support on emergencies 24/7, weekend maintenance support.
Hybrid
This role will be based out of The Leela Office located on the 4th Floor, Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore- 560008. Our expectation at this time, is that you would work HYBRID – work from our office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays with flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Bangalore candidates preferred.
