Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking a National Accounts Manager—On Premise Hotel Regional Chains. This role is responsible for driving sales and marketing performance of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits (DFWS) brands across targeted emerging regional hotel chains, hospitality groups, and national/regional fast casual chains within a defined multi-state territory.

The National Account Manager (NAM) will collaborate closely with internal distributor management and external distributor partners, including National Account VPs and Directors, to align on brand priorities, depletion goals, and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities include executing company strategies, developing accounts, driving profitable growth, and applying category management best practices with top on-premise operators. This position reports to the Vice President, National Accounts – On Premise.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of the annual depletions and share goals within the assigned account base
  • Penetrate assigned account base including ownership of all hotel chains by developing account plans that increase DFWS BTG/BTB/Cocktail menu placements along with customized LTO programs
  • Ensure success and retention of national listings by developing and supporting local activations that drive trial, velocity, and build awareness.
  • Develop and apply category management strategies and principles that align with specific brand priorities and the accounts strategic initiatives.
  • Prioritize the largest opportunity hotel and regional chain accounts, identify the key levers for future growth, and develop an annual tactical plan that drives incremental volume and profit through:
    • Increased distribution and improved promotional effectiveness or other volume generating tactics
  • Continue to develop high-level customer relationships with hotel accounts and customers
    • Ensure proper alignment and synergy of DFWS brand strategy with key customer objectives
    • Develop and implement tactics that grow DFWS business at a faster rate than national Nielsen CGA metrics
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless implementation of all newly launched National programming
    • Ability to create and influence customized programming that supports NAOP sales efforts with DFWS On Premise Channel team
    • Penetrate and leverage key distributor national account resources to drive DFWS account-specific priorities
    • Drive compliance of all mandated and optional programming through DFWS distributor and DFWS direct sales team ensuring we meet and / or exceed our minimum company standards
  • Work with BI and monitor the on-premise environment and be the expert on trends and new developments as it relates to targeted accounts, channel strategies, and innovative ways of working and selling in our ideas
  • Meet quarterly with FP&A to manage the respective NAOP region budget to ensure appropriate allocation of resources against targeted NAOP Customers
  • Fact-based selling and account planning

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 – 7+ years calling on on-premise multi-unit operators, preferably national on-premise hotel chains
  • National chain hotel strong buyer relationships highly preferred
  • Proven track record in National Accounts On-Premise channel with existing relationships established
  • Wine and Spirits experience highly preferred
  • Brand building and promotional ideation skills highly preferred
  • Proven experience leading and working with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Strong fact-based selling, presentation, and negotiating skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel 40% + of your time
