Job Description:

Content Development & Editorial

  • Writing and editing engaging content, including press releases and statements, articles and social media posts, among others for external stakeholders.
  • Align content messaging with overall campaign or business objectives, always positioning the brand positively to safeguard the company’s industry leadership in innovation & ESG.
  • Review content and publications by other units/departments for internal and external communications, such as group-wide announcements, articles, reports, brochures, awards submissions and presentation decks, among others, and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Draft speeches, talking points, FAQs, and emcee scripts for events and publications.
  • Support the development of the Group’s Integrated Report and Sustainability Report, including content review and editing, as well as other assigned tasks.

Media & Stakeholder Relations

  • Coordinate the timely distribution of the company’s press releases and announcements through multiple channels, as well as uploading content to the corporate website, and publishing it across relevant social media platforms.
  • Support the department in building and maintaining relationships with media owners, including TV, radio, print, and digital platforms, through pitching story ideas, coordinating media interviews, and managing media enquiries. 
  • Involved in the development of media relations strategies and related activities. 

Digital & Social Media Management

  • Key account manager for all SD Guthrie digital and social media platforms managed by the department (Group website, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, SharePoint, Threads, group email inboxes).
  • Ensure all digital platforms are consistently updated and collaborate with internal stakeholders to keep content current and relevant.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies, post engaging content across platforms, and manage content calendars.
  • Oversee the execution of campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired target audience. 
  • Analyse digital performance metrics, extract insights, and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance engagement and strengthen the brand’s online presence.
  • Monitor online conversations, trending topics, and sentiment related to the brand, and track social media performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions).
  • Involved in assigned roles relating to social media and digital platforms during crisis situations.

Media Monitoring & Analysis

  • Monitor traditional and social media using present tools to identify critical and sensitive developments.
  • Compile and distribute daily morning news group wide.
  • Develop monthly media and social media monitoring reports for the Group Leadership Committee, including drafting talking points based on data-driven insights.
  • Track the company's image and reputation through media coverage, providing reports to senior management. 
  • Develop monthly and ad-hoc reports and insights to the Management.

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Oversee budget, deliverables, timelines and performance of service providers contracted to provide specific products / services for the unit / department, and successfully complete all short- and long-term projects / retainer contracts as per management approval. This includes procurement processes, management reporting and payment matters, among others.

Project Management & Participation

  • Participate in department projects assigned by HOD/HOU. Represent department in Group-level projects to provide advisory on relevant matters / secretariat role and produce periodical reports for management consumption.

Group Policies, Guidelines & Procedures

  • Support the administration of policies, guidelines and procedures related to communications for the Group and department. Tasks include working with the relevant departments on its annual reviews and updates, as well as effective communication of approved policies, guidelines and procedures to internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

Education / Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Specialisation: Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • He / She is expected to possess demonstrated professional experience in media relations, copywriting, social media management, editorial and campaign management to perform adequately in this role.

Professional Experience

  • Total Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years, preferably in a large and listed multinational corporation (>1,000 employees) is an added advantage to be able to work effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Total Relevant Experience: 3 years in Corporate or Strategic Communications / Digital & Social Media Management / Corporate Affairs.
  • Experience in managing PR campaigns and a wide range of stakeholders, managing diversity / people / department(s) with multiple timelines / cross functional projects.
  • Knowledge / understanding of media & PR, content management systems, social media, and crisis communications.
