Job Summary:

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing and administering Geode Health’s team member benefits programs. This includes health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, leave of absence policies, and other team member perks. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, maintains accurate records, and provides exceptional service to team members.
Estimated base salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + bonus & benefits
Key Responsibilities:
Administer day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, FSA, HSA, 401(k), etc.)
Serve as the primary point of contact for team members with benefits-related questions, issues, and claims assistance.
Process enrollments, changes, terminations, and beneficiary designations in Workday and carrier systems.
Monitor benefit file feeds between Workday and carrier systems to ensure timely and accurate data entries.
Coordinate annual open enrollment, including communication materials, team member meetings, and Workday system updates.
Monitor and ensure benefits compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
Work closely with brokers, vendors, and insurance carriers to resolve team member issues and maintain optimal plan performance.
Partner with Payroll to audit payroll and benefit deductions to ensure accuracy.
Track leave of absence cases and coordinate documentation related to FMLA and other leave policies. Partner with the People Services Business Partner for leaves that need additional support and review under the ADA.
Respond to Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability claims from the carrier.
Analyze usage data and prepare reports on benefit costs, trends, and utilization for leadership.
Assist with benefits education and communication initiatives to promote team member engagement.
Support People Business Partners and Finance teams with benefits-related reporting and data needs.
Assist Chief People Officer and People Business Partners with renewal plan design and strategies.
Maintain confidential team member benefit records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief People Officer.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or HR generalist role with strong benefits exposure.
Experience with HRIS/benefits systems, specifically Workday, highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of team member benefits regulations and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Working Conditions:
Remote work. Standard office environment with occasional travel per business need.
May involve weekday evening hours to accommodate team member schedules.
Ability to work during normal business hours in Central or Eastern time zones.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Fine finger coordination required for typing, pressing objects such as utilizing laptop/mouse for communication and documentation purposes.
Ability to speak clearly with team members so others can understand.
Ability to hear and understand others when speaking.
Ability to view computer screen monitor.
