Job description

Position Summary/Purpose:

The Educational Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities, functions, tasks, and process for Educational Development and special projects. The tasks will vary in complexity to ensure that goals and objectives are met. The exempt-level Coordinator may be professional or administrative in nature and typically works independently without direction and has authority for taking courses of action or deviating from the standard operational guidelines, such as authority for negotiating or renegotiating contracts which are significant, and/or managing budgets related to the designated program, project, purpose, activity or focus.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

1. Partner, collaborate, and communicate with various internal and external contacts, or customers, to coordinate activities, promote and encourage cooperation of submission or collection of information/data, products or services or process improvement. 

2. Manage the flow of activities and acts as liaison to all others involved in the department 

3. Input and maintain data into various software applications such as MS Excel, internal databases, expense accounting, procurement, MS Access, websites, social media or conference scheduling software. 

4. Collaborate with the department head, to create and monitor budgets. 

5. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist department head in monitoring work output for Coordinator I; provides input into Coordinator I evaluation.

Experience/  Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (business, education, social science, etc.) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 2 years’ administrative professional work experience.
  • An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
