Job description

Stambaugh Ness (SN) is a professional services firm serving clients nationally with a singular focus on architecture, engineering, and related industries. With Stambaugh Ness, clients have access to a wide array of services – including advisory, technology, and accounting and tax – that enable them to meet compliance requirements, avoid risk, thrive, and grow.

As a People Operations and HR Administrator within our People & Culture Team, you will support the execution of performance-focused HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle. Your work will enhance operational efficiency, drive engagement, and ensure compliance in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

We’re looking for a self-starter who wants to own their own desk and be on the cutting edge of HR and People operations. If you take pride in being a go-to expert, and are excited to build systems and experiences that support a high-performance culture this is the role for you.

This role needs a combination of operational expertise, attention to detail, systems management, and people-centered communication skills to deliver value to our internal stakeholders and contribute to the continued success and scalability of our business.

This is a remote position that can work from anywhere within the United States. We are committed to finding the right person for this role. We will be accepting applications until July 25th. We will began reviewing all applications starting the week of the 28th.
There’s no need to reach out directly to members of the People Team or other employees at SN. Doing so will not impact your candidacy. Rest assured, our Talent Acquisition team personally reviews every application. If you believe you have the skills, passion, and experience to thrive in this role, we encourage you to submit your application—we’re excited to hear from you.

What you’ll do at SN:
  • Own and manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth experiences and actionable insights through exit interviews.
  • Maintain and optimize our HRIS to ensure accuracy, usability, and a positive employee experience.
  • Support performance management, goal setting, and feedback processes to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Coordinate training initiatives and engagement programs such as recognition, surveys, and internal communications.
  • Monitor and administer benefits programs, serving as a point of contact for inquiries and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policy, and maintain documentation accordingly.
  • Track and report on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-hire, engagement scores) to support data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Finance, Talent Acquisition, and Department Leaders.
What you may have done before:
  • Worked in HR or People Operations in a mid-sized professional services environment (100–500 ish employees).
  • Supported employee engagement, training, performance management, or benefits administration.
  • Served as the go-to person for HRIS systems, onboarding coordination, or compliance.
  • Held an HR generalist, coordinator, or administrator role with increasing levels of responsibility.
You may not want to apply if:
  • You prefer working in established documentation teams with set processes. This is a chance to build and improve processes at a growing organization where we are trying to make HR the best it can be.
  • You’re hesitant to manage a high volume of content, knowledge or processes.
  • You’re not excited to own the HR internal knowledge base and lead documentation strategy; this role is about more than simply writing, but creating create people processes.
What it takes to be a People Operations and HR Administrator:
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Proven success in HRIS management and data accuracy

  • Created policies and procedures at a growing organization
  • Experience with a growing organization or that has gone through M&A
  • Experience at a professional services firm or with employees that are in a consulting/billable environment
