Bookkeeping Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to lead the delivery of finance and compliance services across a range of Australian clients. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping operations, ensuring accurate reporting, managing small teams, and working closely with internal and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations
Oversee BAS, IAS, STP submissions, TPAR, and other compliance reporting
Review financial reports to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
Manage and support a team of bookkeepers or junior accountants
Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards
Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Support financial reporting and contribute to operational efficiency
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping or accounting
At least 2 years in a team lead or review role
Strong knowledge of Australian tax, payroll, and superannuation regulations
Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple client portfolios
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus
