Job description

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Accountant (Japan). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management for our clients operating within the Japanese market. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulations, managing financial operations, and providing strategic financial advice to support business decisions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full cycle accounting processes for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Japanese GAAP.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and tax documents in a timely manner.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow management.
Conduct monthly reconciliations and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
Provide strategic insights on financial performance and business planning to senior management and stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with changes in taxation and financial regulations applicable in Japan.
Coordinate and assist in year-end audits and tax returns.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, specifically within the Japanese market.
In-depth knowledge of Japanese accounting principles and tax regulations.
Excellent command of both written and spoken Japanese and English.
Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and tax
Experienced SAP knowledge
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Good communication skills in both Japanese and English
