Job description

Company Description

At Techo-Bloc, we’re entrepreneurial innovators who take pride in rolling up our sleeves and making things happen. With 9 cutting-edge manufacturing facilities, 13+ distribution centers, and over 900 employees across 20+ North American locations, we’re driven by bold growth, creativity, and a commitment to excellence—all within a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, committed, and action-oriented professional ready to play a central role in developing and embedding a strong, proactive, and sustainable health and safety culture.

Your day-to-day: on the floor, where it matters most.
This role is made for a hands-on individual — someone who believes that a strong H&S culture is built through direct engagement with operations and teams. You will be present every day in the Saint-Hubert and Chambly plants, at the heart of the action, to observe, prevent, intervene, and positively influence behaviors.

This is not an administrative or remote role — it is a practical, strategic, and operational position where you will be a key agent of change.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be visible and active on the production floor daily: identify risks, engage with teams, intervene on-site, and act quickly.

  • Actively participate in the implementation of corrective measures – you are the one who does, not just the one who delegates.

  • Organize, lead, and follow up on monthly health and safety committee meetings, ensuring accountability for projects and commitments.

  • Manage workplace accident, near-miss, and CNESST claim files with both rigor and empathy.

  • Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, implement concrete corrective measures, and ensure diligent follow-up.

  • Conduct internal audits, lead safety walkthroughs, and verify compliance with H&S standards.

  • Develop, recommend, and lead the H&S strategy for both sites, working closely with operations.

  • Track and optimize key H&S performance indicators to guide action plans.

  • Prepare and deliver impactful training sessions for managers and employees on procedures, tools, and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance of PPE and safety procedures (including lockout/tagout – LOTO), adapting them to each site’s reality.

  • Maintain up-to-date, accessible, and regulatory-compliant H&S documentation.

  • Actively promote safety on the production floor: correct gaps, reinforce safe habits, and lead by example.

  • Work closely with production teams and HR as a strategic operational partner.

  • Serve as the point of contact for all internal and external H&S communications, including audits and official visits.

  • Collaborate with other H&S professionals across the company to align and harmonize practices across all sites.

  • Advise operational leaders and HR partners on H&S best practices.

  • Travel regularly between the Saint-Hubert and Chambly sites.

Qualifications

In order to succeed, you must:

  • Possess a university degree with a certificate in health and safety or any other relevant training;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of occupational health and safety;
  • Have experience in managing work-related accidents and disabilities and in evaluating physical requirements related to functional limitations;
  • Be recognized for your professionalism, your thoroughness and your ability to work in a team;
  • Possess a strong sense of analysis and problem solving;
  • Have an excellent knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations;
  • Be bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken;
  • Experience with WSIB or OSHA regulations, an asset;
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, an asset;
  • Mastery of standard computer tools including Ms Word and Ms Excel.

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to provide influential leadership;
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team while establish partnership relationships.
