Senior Project Developer

In Portugal, Akuo secured a 450 MWp solar portfolio at the 2019 national auction. This portfolio is composed of 3 projects all located in Alentejo. 180 MWp are already in operation and the remaining is under construction.

In parallel, Akuo Renováveis Portugal is developing projects to increase its portfolio, namely for the Over-equipment and Hybridization (including wind and storage) of the 3 solar parks, and also by exploring Agri-Energy opportunities.

As our new Senior Project Developer, you will be mainly focused on the development of the current and future projects, also supporting the business development and construction teams.
You will cover the entire scope during the permitting stage (environmental, electrical, municipal, etc.), while ensuring a smooth relationship with all the stakeholders. Projects foreseen will be mainly wind, solar and storage projects.

Specific tasks and deliverables:

• Launch and assess feasibility reports for the identified opportunities,
• Launch and monitor each step of the permitting process,
• Manage all resources assigned to the project in order to control and report its status,
• Manage and interact with different external providers,
• Identify, implement and monitor improvement and/or corrective actions throughout project management (schedule, scope, cost, quality, risk, safety),
• Report the activities' progress, flag risks, provide solutions,
• Liaise with the support units based in the HQ in Paris, on a regular basis, to fine tune/optimize the projects on a long-term approach, during the projects’ lifespan,
• Partner with the business development team, support the relationship with local stakeholders and third parties,
• Provide support/mentoring to the other colleagues in the development team by sharing expertise and knowledge in the sector/permitting processes,
• Partner with the construction team, manage compliance of permits during construction,
• Coordinate the technical studies required.

In your senior role, you will also have a mentoring responsibility towards the other Project Developers in the team.

• Fluent in Portuguese and English,
• Having a driving license is mandatory, as the projects are outside the Lisbon area,
• Higher Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrotechnical / Environmental Engineering or similar,
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience, with a track-record as Project Developer during permitting, preferably in renewable energy projects in Portugal,
• Experience dealing with local administration,
• Knowledge of regulation and processes of renewable energy projects in Portugal,
• ​​​​​You should have basic design experience of wind/solar projects and be comfortable working with AutoCAD and other software,
• Operate at the highest-level integrity and confidentiality,
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
