Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote Medical Coding Specialist.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Remote opportunities available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
Standard Working Hours: Monday - Friday. Can start as early as 5:00AM EST or as late as 10:00AM EST.
Comprehensive understanding of the entire billing cycle, medical terminology, coding, charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreement, payment posting, statements and collections.
3 - 5 years of medical coding experience with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10), Heath Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and Modifier Coding required. Must have experience with Orthopedic Surgery coding.
High school diploma or equivalent
Coding Certification required, CPC or CCS.
3 years of coding experience with Medical Coding Specialist I
5 years of coding experience for Medical Coding Specialist II
Must have orthopedic surgery coding experience
Epic experience preferred
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is: Medical Coding Specialist I $19.47 - $32.45, Medical Coding Specialist II $22.36 - 37.26 . Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities
