Event Operations Manager (Remote) - Questex

Questex is seeking an Event Operations Manager to serve as a lead in managing the live event operations for Questex events. This position plays a key role in overseeing event logistics and ensuring successful execution across assigned conferences, tradeshows, and hosted buyer events.

As our Event Operations Manager you’ll support Questex’s success by:

  • Lead event operations for assigned events from site selection through execution.

  • Oversee site evaluations, contract negotiations, and venue selection.

  • Manage AV planning, decor, production, transportation, and entertainment.

  • Partner with coordinators to manage sponsor, speaker, and exhibitor deliverables.

  • Oversee on-site event setup and execution; troubleshoot issues as needed.

  • Maintain and manage event budgets; negotiate and oversee vendor contracts.

  • Develop event timelines, budgets, and process documentation.

  • Coordinate all vendor communications including catering, security, decor, AV, registration, and logistics.

  • Collaborate with creative team to design signage and attendee journey mapping.

  • Manage sleeping room blocks, travel arrangements, and accommodations.

Your Experience & Education Include:

  • 5+ years of live event operations experience (corporate events required; weddings, parties, etc., not applicable).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proven ability to independently manage large-scale events and vendor relationships.

  • Strong experience with event budgeting and financial management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong email etiquette required.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Smartsheet (or similar), Salesforce (basic contract lookup), and other common event tech platforms.

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with shifting priorities.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

The expected salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000. Salary offers are based on a broad scope of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
