At airCFO, we partner with the world's most impactful startups to build their visions of the future.

Our full-stack team of experts in Finance, Accounting, People Ops, and Tax minimizes compliance and financial risks, providing founders with peace of mind. Our vision is to become the premier workplace for startup-minded professionals, serving as a best-in-class advisor to hundreds of high-growth startups.

🧑‍🚀 Your role in our mission

If you have a passion for working with fast-growing tech startups and you want to enhance your knowledge and skills working with clients across a variety of industries, come and join our amazing team!

To support our continued growth, airCFO is hiring an Accounting Advisory Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead a portfolio of fast-growing startup clients, helping them build scalable accounting and finance processes while ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring our internal accounting team and elevating the quality of our client delivery. This is a great opportunity to deepen your expertise in a dynamic startup environment, shape processes at scale, and contribute to the growth of airCFO’s advisory services

  • 🪴 Manage End-to-End Accounting for High Growth Startups
    • Serve as the primary accounting advisor for a portfolio of VC-backed startups - acting as a trusted partner to founders while leading delivery across engagements alongside a pod of Senior Accountants.
    • Ensure each client receives clean books, accurate reconciliations, and timely month-end closes, culminating in a complete and insightful airCFO Month-End Reporting Package.
    • You lead with a focus on precision and consistency, partnering with your team pod to ensure every client’s financials meet airCFO’s quality standards
    • Review and guide complex accounting areas such as prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, deferred revenue, and equity compensation, ensuring proper GAAP treatment.
    • Own and continuously optimize each client’s cloud-based accounting stack (QBO, Gusto, Ramp, BILL, etc.) to support scalable operations.
    • Support preparation of key filings and schedules, including W-2s, 1099s, 3921s, and DE Franchise Tax.

  • 🤝🏼 Client Relationship Management & Strategic Advisory
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to startup founders, developing a deep understanding of each client’s business model, growth goals, and operational constraints.
    • Design and implement scalable accounting solutions that drive compliance, efficiency, and clarity as clients scale.
    • Lead monthly financial review calls, presenting results, identifying trends and variances, and guiding founders through key financial decisions.
    • Translate complex accounting and financial data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic planning and investor communications.
    • Be a key business partner in preparing clients for fundraising and due diligence, ensuring their financials are audit-ready, well-documented, and aligned with investor expectations.
    • Proactively surface and scope value-add opportunities, positioning clients for success through additional advisory, systems improvements, or cross-functional airCFO services.

  • 🚧 Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
    • Identify and lead opportunities to streamline client financial workflows, enhance accuracy, and increase scalability.
    • Follow airCFO’s standardized procedures, while proactively implementing efficiency improvements across client and internal processes.
    • Support operational excellence through effective time tracking, resource planning, and alignment with client margin goals

  • 👥 Team Management & Collaboration
    • Manage and mentor a team of Senior Accountants based in the Philippines, offering coaching and feedback while ensuring compliance with workflows and delivery of high-quality work in line with airCFO’s standards.
    • Foster a strong culture of collaboration across departments and service lines, ensuring clients receive a cohesive airCFO experience. Promote accountability, shared learning, and continuous development within your team
    • Contribute to the evolution of our internal playbooks, workflows, and tools, while actively sharing knowledge to elevate the capability of the broader Advisory team.

  • 🚀 Contribute to Long-Term airCFO Initiatives
    • Be passionate about the future of back office operations, bringing a forward-thinking mindset to how accounting, automation, and advisory intersect.
    • Stay informed on emerging fintech tools (e.g., AI-powered apps, automation platforms) to help optimize and better serve a portfolio of scaling clients
    • Monitor industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to assess and communicate their impact on clients.
    • Support Department Leaders on the execution of company-wide initiatives, contributing to internal process development, team training, and service line development.
