Job Description:

General Function / Summary:

The Director, Human Resources is responsible to serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives and organizational goals. This role is responsible for driving talent strategies, enhancing the associate experience, and implementing HR programs that support business goals. This role is also responsible for leading Learning & Development to create innovative learning approaches to align with the business needs, while being highly effective, and in tune with our culture.

Essential Duties:      

  • Serve as a consultative partner to leaders, aligning HR Strategies with business goals.
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning and change management efforts.
  • Act as an internal consultant to leaders, build trust, provide coaching and advice on a range of organizational and change issues. 
  • Drive change by challenging leaders to consider alternative solutions and think progressively to influence a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure associate relations climate is designed and managed to deliver on the cultural values of CNG as well as mitigate organizational risk through proactive associate relations and compliance strategies.
  • Collaborate with leaders to foster an inclusive and engaging culture.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture through engagement initiatives, associate recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Manage performance and talent management processes for the organization.
  • Manage conflict resolution, performance improvement processes, and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment activity for client groups including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Responsible for setting the learning foundation (standard, approach, strategy, best practice, and governance), develop and lead leadership programs, manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide insightful reporting and dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Drive professional development initiatives to build organizational capability.
  • Collaborate with partners to determine learning needs and the best delivery approach.
  • Evaluate learning program efficiency and continuously improving our solutions.
  • Drive operational efficiency and process improvement across HR functions.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices.
  • Analyze Human Resources metrics to recognize trends and work with business partners to provide insights and guide decisions; be data driven.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on progress and results achieved.
  • Execute people leader duties, such as performance management, timely completion of required training, ensure team metrics and associate career growth objectives are met.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the Human Resources function, specifically in Human Resources Business Partner role, supporting and influencing senior leadership
  • 3 years in HR leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and drive strategic initiatives with Business Leaders
  • Extensive experience partnering with Business Leaders on talent management and coaching leadership skill sets
  • Expertise in organizational development, change management, associate engagement, associate relations, and performance management
  • Proven track record providing HR Business Partner Support to executives across functions
  • Experience developing and executing human resource strategies
  • Experience with the practical application of HR policies and practices 
  • A track record of managing ambiguity and changing priorities to deliver high performance 
  • Outstanding organization skills, with the ability to lead and gather information from cross-functional teams both within HR and across the business
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to drive change across a complex organization structure  
  • Proven ability to develop, engage, and retain a high performing team
  • Knowledge of learning principles and training approaches
  • Experience with leading strategic learning projects aligned with learner centered design
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability and willingness to consistently live and embrace our core values of accountable, inclusive, transparent, and focused
