Job description

Join our team in Berlin and gain hands-on experience in biomarker research and clinical development! We are looking for a motivated working student to support us in data analysis and programming projects at the interface of medicine, biology, and data science.

Main Responsibilities

  • Enhance R-scripts and Rmarkdown files on biomarker mixed-effects models following Good Programming Practice

  • Develop modular, reusable statistical R-scripts and Rmarkdown files

  • Create a comprehensive set of easy-to-use R codes (ideally as R-package) with full documentation of scripts, readouts, and user manual

  • Apply scripts on clinical trial data and simulated data for model comparisons

  • Collaborate with experienced biostatisticians to document and discuss results

  • Contribute to technical guidance documents

About You

  • Very good R programming skills and hands-on experience in writing R scripts

  • Understanding of Good Programming Practices

  • Basic knowledge of statistics (e.g. p-values, ANOVA, regression)

  • Strong scientific curiosity – especially in biomarkers and drug development

  • Very good English skills (or good English combined with German as a native language)

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (e.g. , Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or similar)

This is a plus

  • Experience with building R packages

  • Knowledge of CDISC standards for clinical trial data

  • Exposure to clinical, medical real-world, or biomarker data

  • Familiarity with mixed-effects models or other advanced statistics

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • German language skills
